A high quality printed poster I drew of "The Preacher" from Dune Messiah. This is the first in a set of 3 Dune portraits I'm illustrating. Highly detailed, every line was hand drawn in an effort to evoke a woodcut style. I thought a lot about my approach to this one, pulling many different themes from Dune including Arabic pattern work that also works in the gaping maws of the worms of Arrakis, the crest of the Atreides, waves of stars suggesting the prescient abilities of Paul, and more hidden elements.
Printed on extra thick stock paper with raised ink, so you can feel every line and detail as you run your hand across the poster.
Quick note: because I have to go to a special printer for the sizes larger than 11x17", sometimes it can take a few extra days to get these orders out. Sometimes they go out just as fast as standard sizes, it all just depends on cheapest what that printer has on the agenda that week.
