Brownie the Unique Vintage Brown Dog Pie Vent Embossed Detail Sitting cheapest Howling Man's Best Friend Canine Japan
What a unique pie vent that is offered here. This particular vent is in the shape of a dog. The sculpturing of this piece was fashioned and detailed very close to life-like. The shadows and lights move about his muscular body. This almost resembles a chocolate lab. Around his neck he wears a collar. I can see this dog sitting at the edge of our property, his tail tucked in beside him as he gazes off into the woods; howling at another dog properties away. Dogs are funny that way. The attention to detail is very nice. Usually pie vents have arches at the base to allow the air to flow up and out of the top. In this case, the dog sits flat, however, there is a space between his front and back paws on either side, allowing the air to escape there. Very clever, really! This piece is brown glazed inside and out. The inside bottom is marked "JAPAN" in black ink. This piece would add so much to your collection, whether pie vents or canines!
If you have never experienced cheapest the wonder of making your own berry pie and inserting one of these sweet pie vents into the center for baking, you may want to consider it! They really do work to "vent" the hot air from inside the pie so that your pie does not bubble over in your oven. Sometimes I wish they had made them to "trill" as the air goes through, but that might drive you a bit crazy before the pie is finished!! Ha
